Tyer's Table with Bryan Cohen ~ March Browns

Bryan Cohen is one of our favorite Trout fly tyers and one of only a few that tie flies for the bins here in the shop. His original patterns and interpretations of classics are always impressive, and his willingness to share his techniques with others is boundless. As we roll into Spring here in the Great Northwest, our focus moves towards Trout and Mayflies. First up on the Hit Parade: March Browns!

This prolific insect appears as early as the first part of February on Willamette Valley streams and slightly later on the east side, where it appears on the Deschutes from late February into May. Pre-hatch anglers can swing soft hackles until the bugs fly, but early-season dry-fly fishing is the draw. A March Brown hatch helps rinse away the cobwebs of winter, setting us on the path to summer.

Join us this Saturday, March 29th, at 10:30 AM as Bryan Cohen shares his fresh March Brown Hackle Stacker, a classic pattern with a BC twist.
