A WORLD OF INNOVATION.
CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGY.
LEGENDARY DESIGN.
Forged from cutting-edge technology and legendary design. Developed and hand-finished in Woodland, Washington and rolled in the world's only Spiral X production facility in Kumamoto, Japan. Introducing Asquith: the most technologically advanced fly rod in the world. Shimano's proprietary Spiral-X technology utilizes a core layer, a longitudinal middle layer, and a reverse-axis fiber outer layer. This unique construction increases rigidity without increasing weight, reduces ovalization, and provides virtually instantaneous power transmission when casting or fighting a fish.
The Asquith series is the culmination of global cooperation in design, materials, and manufacturing techniques. Built on Shimanoäó»s proprietary Spiral X platform, the Asquith boasts superb power transfer from tip to hand, quick recovery, and increased sensitivity.Œæ Designed by world casting champion Steve Rajeff, the Asquith is an exploratory step into the future of rod manufacturing technology. With fast actions, generous power levels, titanium guides, and exceptionally light swing weight, all rods in the series excel in fishing situations where developing high line speed and making precise casts means success.
12'9" 6wt- 6wt's are fast becoming the most popular size. The new lines are making casting heavy tips and big flies a breeze. Strong enough for most winter fishing situations and delicate enough for casting Scandi lines and small flies. Line: OPST Commando 350gr, Airflo Scout 390gr, Rio Scandi 390gr
13' 7wt- The 7wt is the 30-06 of spey rods and this quite possibly could be the best one of all time. Ultra light, super durable, and able to launch a fly a country mile. This rod is perfect for Winter fishing in Oregon, summer steelhead in BC, or Sea Runs in TDF. Lines: Airflo 510gr Skagit Switch, Rio Skagit Max 525gr, Rio Scandi 450gr
13'6" 8wt- This rod is made for casting to far away places. Big water rivers like the Skeena, Skagit, and Clackamas are no problem for this rod. Lines: Airflo Skagit compact 570gr, Airflo Scandi Long 510gr, Rio Mid Head Spey 8/9
Spiral X
Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a blank made of vertical fibers, an inner layer, and an outer layer both comprised of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite directions.
Accurate: Reduces blank twist and ovalization, enhancing casting performance
Lightweight: 20% less material than standard graphite construction
Durable: Internal structure of blank provides superior strength with less material
